"By pushing my own physical boundaries, my aim was to show young girls and women what is possible when you harness the power of the body and mind.”

Run Antarctica is a Guinness World Record™ by Donna Urquhart for the longest ultramarathon in a polar region in history.

From 15th December 2023 until 14th January 2024, in Union Glacier, Antarctica, Donna ran 1402km and smashed the previous record by over 200km and followed the Polar Expeditions Classification Scheme (PECS) Guidelines.

A female first.

The Record

More than a record!

The Run Antarctica team is committed to increasing participation and retention in sports for young girls as a foundation for an empowered life. To continue making an impact, we have established EmpowerHER Sport, a sports foundation with an ambitious target to raise $1.5 million towards evidence-based research, educational tools and programs, and building supportive communities.
